Our Backyard

Ok, so not really our backyard, but close.

I've had this vision of taking pics of Abrie in the field across the street from our house. You know when the light is perfect, she is cooperating and Eric is home. Well those three things don't come together like ever! So the night he was home and she was in a good enough mood we decided to venture to the little field behind our place and attempt my vision. I really liked the way some of them turned out and hope you enjoy them too :)

And as always I am terrible at narrowing it down so it's picture overload :)

Summer Fun

Ok, so it's not officially summer yet, but it sure is starting to feel like it. It's been so warm that we've had to get outside and have some fun. I can already tell that this is going to be a fun summer for Abriella. She is now big enough to hang out in her little pool, walk around, go for wagon rides and more. She's not just a sweaty little lump that we had to prop up everywhere :) It should be fun.

So far we went to a baseball game...

I really wish this one wasn't blasted. Everyday she helps her daddy water the plants so when she went over and got the watering can and did it herself I just had to snap a pic. Too bad my settings were all wrong :(

she did have an actual pool, but when I got it out, spent 30 mins. blowing it up and then filling it with water, I found out it had 3 holes in it. So this is what she got for the day. And you know what, she could have cared less :) Eric had to go out and by her a new one though (we'll see how long it lasts).

Yum...

Abriella is getting so big. She hardly needs us at all anymore :( Ok, well maybe she still needs us for some things, but she walks by herself, now goes to bed by herself, feeds herself and now even with utensils. Where is my baby??

We have been giving Abriella forks and spoons for awhile but usually she just holds them in one hand and eats with the other. Well one day she woke up and decided to be civilized and would only eat if the food was on a spoon or fork :)

Next are the fun in the sun pics. I can't believe that this is the second summer for pool fun for her. Last year we had to hold her sitting up in the pool and this year she was just up walking all around, climbing in and out and just looking as big as can be...

At The Zoo

Eric and I actually had a day to take Abriella to the zoo. With our schedules it is very rare that we have time to go on any adventures so it was exciting when we were finally able to make plans to go to the zoo. We'd been wanting to take Abriella since this time last year but never were able to make it. So we thought that this would be a good time since she looooves animals and knows that a cat says miaow, a dog say boof, a sheep says baaaaaaahhhhh, a cow says moo, a duck says qack, a horse says neiiiiiiigh, and a pig says lalala :) Yet, once we got there she showed more interst in pushing the stroller (yet again), looking at the waterfalls and flowers, and trying to eat mulch. Not quite as successful as we had hoped. Yet, it was a beautiful day and mostly enjoyable.

It took me quite awhile to get through all the pics (I took way too many) but here are some of my favs. I'll try not to over do it :)

Baby Galapagos



The cat house made me sad. They were all in tiny little areas inside all the time and it smelled so bad. I really hope they are being taken care of. This is why I have a hard time with the zoo and why Abriella won't ever go to the circus.


I loved these monkeys, they were jumping all around making crazy noises. (Check out his throat)






haha... we asked her if she loved the elephant!! She's all about the love.















It was a nice day and I, of course, loved all the photo opportunities. I did learn though that a 200mm lens is a lot heavier than a 50mm lens and I better lay off the coffee if I really want shots in good focus :) Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed seeing some of them, if you made it this far :)
