Stylin'

I've always been kind of fascinated by the whole "nature vs. nurture" idea. What is taught? What is instinctual? I don't really know, but it sure is funny to watch a little one grow and develop. It's amazing to see what they pick up, from what you teach them and from what you don't. I never taught Abriella to put on lipstick... but...

she likes to go through my purse... and happened to find my chapstick... and this is immediately what she did (and I honestly don't think she's seen me put on chapstick more than one or two times)...

Now I'm not saying that if she was a boy she wouldn't have done this too (and I would have let him), but it's interesting. It's also funny how she automatically wants to put on makeup, try on all the shoes in the house, picks dresses over anything else, and

loves her pearls...

just something to think about!!

continued....

I'm sorry. I tried not to post anymore of these from the field, but I finished editing them and just have to share. I'm pretty sure these are some of my favorite pics of her (although, lately I feel I've been saying that after every photo shoot :)

I love everything about this one. From the tones, to the way she's looking at her daddy, to her antenna on top, to her little toes peeking out :) I just ordered this one big and can't wait to see it.
can anyone tell what's missing from this picture??

yes... that is your nose

Monica jumped in on the action.

hehehe...

and to hopefully bring a smile to your face....

Macro Fun

I miss my grandpa. I was young when he died and even younger when my grandma died. I didn't get to know them all that well but what I do remember is all good. I remember that my grandpa loved photos, especially landscapes and waterfalls. He loved puzzles and would always make us do brain teasers (I actually still think I have one). I really wish I could have gotten to know him better because now that I am older I think we would have had a lot in common. I am lucky to have been given some of his lens and think of him everytime I pull one out.

I decided to stop torturing the Little Miss and pulled out the macro to see what it could do. I've never done anything like this before and think I am becoming quickly addicted.

The flowers were a wonderful surprise from the hubby. I really wish I had thought to do the pictures earlier because I let the roses die :(

Eric is growing some parsley...

and some basil...

I couldn't find a four leaf one.

and finally I thought I would share our weekend visitor...

Anyone want any cats!?!
