I am amazed. It has been almost one year since Abriella was born. In less than a week she will enjoy her first birthday. I don't know how it can go so fast. People say it all the time but you don't realize it until it's happened. She has learned so much in just one year and I'm sad that she's not a baby any more.
She's running places and getting into trouble. She has words that she uses now and doesn't cuddle up very much anymore. I've tried so hard to capture all these special moments and I want to hold onto them forever. The sad (and wonderful) thing is that she is just going to keep growing and learning new things, even if I want to keep her little forever.
I'm trying to decide on her 1 yr old picture to put in my book. I'm not sure I got it yet, but I sure love taking pictures of her.
she is beautiful...
she make my heart smile...
...
she can find her toes...
she is ornery...
she has her Daddy's eyes...
she loves her bunny...
she lets me fix her hair...
she let's me dress her funny...
even if she's not that happy about it...
she melts my heart...
even when she steal my lens cap (and then screams bloody murder when I take it back)...
I'm so happy you're in my life Baby Girl! I can't wait to see what the next year brings.

Practice
The more that I get into photography, the more I want to practice. It is still too cold to go outside and I really only have one model. And she is very uncooperative. She drives me crazy because she just doesn't understand when I ask her to sit still for one second (or 1/160th of a second) so that I can take her picture. ;) She's been driving me crazy for other reasons as well, but anyways...
I am really trying to improve, but I think I am going to break down and get her 1 yr. pictures taken in a studio because I just can't do it. These are the few from our last "session" where it was me holding her down, jumping up, snapping a pic, then chasing her because she'd already gotten away!!
But somehow all of our "sessions" end up looking like this:
Anyone have some more willing models??

Sunset ~ Take 2
Happy Valentines Day!! Eric and I don't usually celebrate because he always has to work, so we do another "Random I Love You Day" sometime around the holiday. He got a new season of The Office and I got the most wonderful gift:
It's the first designer anything that I have ever owned...
and it also doubles as a diaper bag.
But the real reason for the post:
I don't know if anyone remembers the first sunset attempt that I made when I first got my camera but it didn't work out quite like I had hoped. I have been thinking about it and wanting to try it again since. So yesterday it was finally decently warm out and it wasn't raining so I took advantage and am so happy I did.
Here was my first attempt:
The sky looked pretty, but Eric is pretty much bodyless and you can't see their silhouette. It was kind of a bummer.
But these went so much better!! I am really going to hang some of these and would love to know if anyone has any favorites.
I felt so encouraged after these. I've been having a hard time loving my pics lately (except for the subject, even though she is extremely difficult) so it was nice to finally get something that I loved. I hope you enjoy them too.

A Day in the Life
First things first...
You have to have a good breakfast.
Diaper changes are necessary...
...but it's hard to stay focused.
Once that's settled...
...it's back to playing with the calculator and reading some books.
Puzzles are also fun to work on...
...especially when you use your mouth.
Then it's naptime.
Sometimes...
Then it's lunchtime.
For me and the kitty.
Then it's back to playing, and getting into trouble.
and looking at the baby in the mirror...
and giving her kisses...
Then maybe another nap...
or maybe not.
Daddy's usually home for dinner...
and I'm not sure I'm always happy about that.
But he does give me a bath and I'm awfully happy about that!!
Then it's time for bed and a new day to do it all again.
